1st steps...

I've realized that I, and many other women, need more options and something that suits our lifestyle better! So this set me on a path of discovery :)

My friend's hair was looking fabulous at gym and when I asked her what she had used, she mentioned the Brazilian Keratin treatment and even at at cost of more than R1500 I seriously considered it, because her hair was smooth, straight and sleek. However, that treatment is not permanent although it's a treatment many people I know have now tried.

I decided to start at the beginning: what makes curly hair curly? Surely, I first had to understand this before I could select the product I needed. I was very surprised to discover that curly hair is genetically different from straight hair!

This left me to question: can you then make curly hair straight if the genetics are different? On my holiday to Asia I discovered the answer to this question:
YES YOU CAN!

Keep coming back and I'll let you into my findings :)

The start of my journey.....

Hi,

I am Fazlyn and even though I can never really remember wanting straight hair I know that I've always wanted hair that would suit my busy lifestyle. As with many other women, who have jobs, spouses, pets, friends, recreational activities and soooooo much more, I just want a faster approach to get up and go but still look fabulous! Come on, a girl can't go out looking like she's just been caught in a hurricane lol

I have a hair dryer that has been used approximately 5 times, if not less, since it was bought 5 years ago and an expensive GHD flat iron that was also bought but is currently on my cupboard laying like an expensive ornament, simply because these tools, even though they are brilliant, requires time. Quite honestly I'd rather spend my time doing other things, especially in summer when you can't bear to be under the heat of these 2 fabulous, albeit warm, 'women wonder gadgets'.

Some of my friends, the ones I gym with (yes, I do try going to gym and attempt to not make monthly gym donations) were discussing how the perspiration (this happens when you're working your body hard especially after that chocolate you've eaten during the day lol) just messes with your hair do!

So this lead to me to question: can I not get my hair looking like I've just stepped out of the salon every morning, like someone who has naturally straight hair would? Don't get me wrong, my hair is not really, really curly, it's got soft curls and I can get away with a wash and go approach but then you get those fly-away bits at the front that makes me look like 'sunshine' (funny enough that's my husband's nickname for me, but I'm thinking it has more to do with my personality than my stubborn front strands lol).

Then started the investigation of what really was out there that would meet my and my fabulous friends needs.  Being a type A personality I really got into this investigation, so I'll post my findings in the next few weeks :)

I hope you'll come back to read what I've got to say.
Have an absolutely fabulous weekend :)
